Welcome
Welcome to the Nissan U12 Pintara web site.
When I bought a U12 Pintara, after finally deciding to get rid of my
Datsun 1200, I searched the web for
info about the U12, but failed to find anything of significance.
As a result, I decided to start a web site dedicated to the U12 Pintara,
with all the info that I could find, including details of
my own U12 Pintara.
I later discovered that the U12 was also sold in the USA, Hawaii (and probably
in other places too) as the U12 Stanza. There are quite a few sites on the
web dedicated to the Stanza, and I've included added Stanza links on my
links page.
The U12 Stanza was only available as a 4 door sedan, with the KA24E engine, and
came in several spec levels (XE, GXE, SE), and was sold from 1990 to 1992.
If you have any info about the U12 Pintara that you think should be included
on this site, please let me know.

The U12 Pintara
The Australian-made
Nissan
U12 Pintara was sold in Australia from 1989 to 1993, before
being replaced by the Japanese-made Bluebird.
In fact, one model in the Australian-made U12 Pintara was actually
exported to Japan in 1989.
It was available in a number of different models, with either the 83kW
CA20 engine, or the 96kW KA24 engine, and was available as a 4 door sedan
and a 5 door hatch (also known as the "superhatch").
See the
specifications section for more details.
The U12 Pintara was also sold by
Ford Australia, rebadged as a Corsair,
from 1989 to 1992.
The Corsair was available in two models, the GL and the Ghia.
The rear-end of the Corsair is different than the Pintara, with the numberplate
on the Corsair being mounted on an indentation in the rear bumper (just like the
Pintara hatch), while on the Pintara sedan, the number plate is
mounted above the rear bumper, between the tail lights.
The Corsair missed out on the cornering lights that the Pintara has, with these
lights being used as indicators on the Corsair instead.
A CA18DET-powered version of the U12 Pintara with the Attessa AWD system,
called the Bluebird SSS, was sold in Japan,
but never made it to Australia (later models had the SR20DET!).
