Boulder Rock is a great place to visit. It's located in Karragullen, in the eastern corner of Midgegoroo National Park (formerly Canning National Park), right next to Brookton Highway. It's a huge granite rock outcrop, with various large boulders scattered over the top, and provides lots of interesting angles for photography. There's also plenty of wild flowers and scrub in the bush around the rock.

Unfortunately, the carpark and picnic area has been closed, so you'll need to park on the side of the road when visiting the rock.

Here's a selection of photos from my recent visit.

Update: If you're interested in visiting Boulder Rock, it's about 18km down Brookton Highway (from Armadale) - see here for the location on google maps.

I missed something: shouldn't there be a picture of a van driving on that big rock? :)

@Richard: you must be referring to this one:

If only we could have found it!!!! Signposting rubbish and we drove up and down the highway all afternoon - finally stopping and walking along a track on the other side of the highway. Loved your photos - shame we didn;t get there :(

@coulinjco: indeed it is a shame you couldn't find it!

I believe all signposts for Boulder Rock were removed when the carpark and picnic area was removed.
Hopefully a google maps reference will help you find it next time.
